We welcome being progressive, prosperous, clean, green, socially aware, sporting-minded and artistically rich.  Denmark embraces its response-ability as stewards of our world-class pristine and diverse natural environments where ocean and forest meet gloriously. We are The Place to celebrate life at its natural best.”

Winter-time especially invites us to come Home and to savour the Quality of our lives. In the last few months I went out of my usual ways to invite and to hold Strategic Meetings and Conversations with a number of our key leaders. It seemed timely to ask ‘what sort of Home we intentionally wanted Denmark to become?’ and ‘How could shared Vision and Values ensure that we prosper and live well together?’

 

This Vision statement has been given to our Shire Council and other significant leaders, but more importantly I offer it to all of us as ‘community-leaders’ to enact. My hope is that in being clearer about ‘who we are and what we want for our lives and community’ we may in practical everyday ways respond and grow toward this ‘Ideal’. We may value even more so the uniqueness of this special place called Denmark. We may deepen our appreciation of the splendid features of our environmental landscape and our rich social fabric. We may consciously develop the creative and cutting-edge business, cultural and tourist services that keep us enlivened and prosperous for all our futures.

 

We know that many people adore coming to Denmark for that natural and family-friendly getaway holiday. Let us also create a Denmark that All of us love. I really do believe that Denmark can be one of the best places in the world to live and can be generously shared with those who come – to visit, to learn, to stay. We have a Paradise here. It is timely to build our individual and community capacities so we can enjoy, sustain, share and deepen – even Paradise! Let us learn together and become the Sustainable Dream-Place. We have much to gain.
